Seashore Middle Academy is an open-enrollment, public charter school serving grades 5-8. The Academy's tuition-free program provides a college-preparatory curriculum for students living in Padre Island, Flour Bluff, Port Aransas, the Naval Air Station, and the National Seashore.
Seashore Middle Academy provides a rigorous curriculum, small class sizes, and opportunities for students to receive individual attention for remediation and acceleration. Seashore offers multiple levels of math, a lab-based science program, and technology integrated into every classroom. Each student has access to a laptop computer for use during and after school. High school credit courses, including Spanish, Health, Communications Applications, and advanced Math courses may be completed during the seventh- and eighth-grade years. Elective courses include instrumental and choral music, drama, art, journalism, and Challenge Math.

Seashore Vision Statement
- SMA will provide a well-rounded, rigorous college preparatory curriculum.

Educational innovations that will distinguish this school from other schools include:
- SMA will provide students with an educational atmosphere that parallels the business and scientific work place of the 21st century.
- SMA’s campus will simulate the workplace by providing a professional environment. Students will be provided with technology that translates educational situations into real life experiences.
- SMA will provide laptop computers, wireless Internet, individualized instruction, and educational objectives tailored to the needs of the student.
- SMA students will use cooperative learning and interdisciplinary instruction to provide real world relevancy and skills, resulting in authentic assessment.
- SMA will use individual student assessment as an important tool in student placement, instruction, and curriculum.

- SMA is located on an island off the coast of Texas. This unique location provides opportunities for incorporating environmental resources into the middle school curriculum.
- SMA will be the only public school in ESC Region 2 to offer a college preparatory program to all students.
- SMA will incorporate SAT vocabulary into the language arts curriculum.
- SMA will offer courses for high school credit.
