Island Foundation Programs
Seashore Learning Center
One of the first charter schools in Texas, SLC is known for innovation and excellence. In 1995, the Island Foundation opened the doors to Seashore Learning Center with 15 children. In 1996 we became an Open Enrollment Charter School. Today we are educating approximately 200 children K-5. SLC has received recognized or exemplary designation by the Texas Education Association due in part to its high TAKS scores. SLC was one of eight charters to receive the maximum 10 year renewal by the State Board of Education in February 2001!
